EMT Pay in New England

Data made available earlier this summer by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) detailed that over 178,000 EMTs (emergency medical technicians) were employed in the United States as of May 2024. The six-state New England region accounted for a bit more than 9,800 of those EMT jobs. In general, New England is a good one for EMT pay.  Although EMTs inVermont earn average annual mean wages below the national average, 65% of the region's EMT live in Massachusetts or Connecticut, two states that ranked among the top 10 states nationally for EMT and paramedic annual mean wages. Data released in 2024 by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that, as of May 2024, there were over 248,600 physical therapists (PTs) working in the United States.  More than 60,500 physical therapists were employed in the twelve-state Southeastern U.S. as of May 2024.  BLS data reveals the Southeast region to be a mostly subpar one for PT pay, where practitioners often earn less than the national average annual mean wage for physical therapists.  Only three states in the region had an annual mean wage level for physical therapists that topped the profession's national average of $99,913, with more than half the states in the region ranking in the bottom half of all states for that pay metric.  A deeper examination of BLS data from May 2024

There were more than 1,388,000 nursing assistants employed in the United States as of May 2024 according to the latest occupational employment data available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). As of May 2024, over 41,000 MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technologists were employed in the U.S. according to the most current occupational employment figures available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS).  At that time, the five-state Great Lakes region accounted for an estimated 7,130 MRI technologist jobs, or about 17% of the national total.  BLS data revealed the Great Lakes region to be a modestly weak one for MRI technologist pay, with all states in the region registering an annual mean wage level for MRI technologists that was beneath the national average for the profession. EMT Pay in the Great Plains Region

Data recently published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) put emergency medical technician (EMT) employment at more than 178,000 Americans as of May 2024. The seven-state Great Plains region accounted for over 11,600 U.S. EMT jobs. In general, the Great Plains region was not a good one for EMT pay, as only two states in the region had an annual mean wage level for EMTs that was above the national average. Nearly three-quarters of the region's EMTs lived in a state where the annual mean wage was below the national average for the profession. This included two states in the region, Kansas and South Dakota, that ranked among the ten worst states nationally for EMT annual mean wages. Periodic patient surveys conducted by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) aim to measure user satisfaction with recent inpatient stays at hospitals that service Medicare and Medicaid enrollees.
