Top Ranked Teaching Hospitals in the Southwest

In the most recent (20-21) U.S. News & World Report rankings of American hospitals, only 134 hospitals earned national distinction in at least one of the 16 adult specialties studied in the survey.  Four teaching hospitals in the Southwest earned a top 20 national recognition in at least 1 adult specialty.  And two of those institutions, the Mayo Clinic - Phoenix and Houston Methodist Hospital, earned a spot in the survey among the top 20 best hospitals in the nation.  Here's a look at the top four teaching hospitals in the Southwest and where exceled in the U.S. News survey:
