In the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings of American hospitals, 89 hospitals received national distinction in at least one of the ten pediatric specialties studied in the survey.  With a top 10 national ranking in all ten pediatric specialties examined in the survey, Cincinnati Children's Hospital was rated as the best children's hospital in the United States.   Less than two hours away in Columbus, Ohio, Nationwide Children's Hospital also earned a spot in the survey, ranking 6th nationally, as a top ten U.S. pediatric hospital.  In all, fifteen children's hospitals in the Great Lakes region earned a top 50 national ranking in at least one of the ten pediatric specialties covered by the survey.  Here's a summary look at the fifteen Great Lakes region children's hospitals that earned recognition in the new USNWR survey:

In the latest American hospital survey from U.S. News & World Report, only 89 children's hospitals received national recognition in at least one of the ten pediatric specialties examined in the survey.  Seventeen pediatric hospitals in the Mid-Eastern U.S., a region that encompasses five states and the District of Columbia, earned a top 50 national ranking in at least one specialty.  Moreover, four Mid-Eastern U.S. pediatric hospitals ranked among the ten best children's hospitals in the nation in the new USNWR survey.  No other region of the country had as many top 10 pediatric hospitals as did the Mid-East.  The seventeen Mid-Eastern U.S. children's hospitals that earned recognition in the USNWR survey were:
