Health services managers, ranging from chief executives to front-line supervisors, are integral to maximizing the operational effectiveness of a wide variety of healthcare businesses, including hospitals, outpatient care centers, skilled nursing facilities, physicians' offices, and home healthcare providers. There were about 477,000 health service management jobs in the U.S. as of May 2022 according to data released by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). About 14,000 of those employed as health services managers lived in the five-state Rocky Mountain region. Except in Colorado, both the mean and the median annual wage for health services managers in every state in the region was below the national average for the profession.
