In the latest ratings of American hospitals conducted by U.S. News & World Report (USNWR), 89 pediatric hospitals earned distinction nationally in at least one of the ten children's healthcare specialties examined in the survey. With top 10 national rankings in all ten pediatric specialties surveyed, Houston's Texas Children's Hospital ranked as the third-best children's hospital in the nation. Although no other Southwestern-based pediatric hospital ranked among the top 10 children's hospitals in the nation, a total of nine hospitals in the region earned a top 50 national ranking in at least one of the ten pediatric specialties surveyed.
