The most current occupational statistical data available from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) put pharmacy technician employment at more than 415,000 as of May 2020. With over 55,500 pharmacy technicians employed, the six-state Far Western U.S. region accounted for about 13.4% of U.S. pharmacy technician employment. The region is the best region in the nation for pharmacy technician pay. All six states in the Far Western U.S. ranked among the ten best in the nation for pharmacy technician annual mean wages, including four that ranked in the top five nationally.
