May 2020 data published recently by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) revealed that over 107,000 surgical technologists were employed in the United States. With just over 4,600 surgical technologists employed, the six-state New England region accounted for about 4.3% of U.S. surgical technologist employment. New England is one of the best regions in the country for surgical technologist pay, with two states in the region ranked among the ten best states in the nation for surgical technologist annual mean wages.
