The 25-26 U.S. News & World Report survey of American hospitals rated more than 880 hospitals for their proficiency and effectiveness in delivering adult cancer care. The study examined multiple cancer treatment factors, ranging from patient outcomes, to the volume of high-risk patients, to patient experience, to nurse staffing, to the use of advanced clinical technologies. Only five hospitals in the Southwestern U.S. rated among the top 50 U.S. hospitals for adult cancer care in the 25-26 survey. Among this group was the UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, which was rated as the overall #1 cancer hospital in the nation.
