In the current (2022-23) survey of American hospitals from U.S. News & World Report (USNWR), among the 50 hospitals recognized for being the best in the U.S. for pediatric heart care, thirteen were based in the twelve-state Southeastern region of the country.  No other region of the country had more hospitals ranked among the 50 best pediatric heart hospitals in the U.S. than did the Southeast.  While other hospitals in the Southeast may provide cardiology and heart surgery services, the thirteen hospitals that earned a spot in the USNWR national survey stand apart as the top-ranked pediatric heart hospitals in the Southeastern U.S.:
