Physical Therapy Assistant Pay in the U.S. Far West

May 2020 data recently published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that almost 93,000 physical therapy (PT) assistants were employed in the U.S. at that time.  Approximately 9,000 physical therapy assistants were employed in the six-state Far West region of the U.S. as of May 2020. BLS data shows the Far West to be a relatively strong region for physical therapy assistant pay.  Although three states in the region had average annual mean wage levels for PT assistants that were below the national average, over 90% of the region's PT assistants lived in a state where the annual mean wage exceeded the national average.  This included California, the #1 state in the country in terms of PT assistant annual mean wages.  BLS data from May 2020 reveals the following about physical therapy assistant pay in the U.S. Far West:
