Newly released data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that there were over 211,000 nurse practitioners (NPs) employed in the United States as of May 2020. More than 23,000 NP jobs in the U.S. were in the six-state Far West region of the country. The Far West region is the best in the nation for nurse practitioner pay, with five states in the region ranking in the top 10 nationally for NP annual mean wages.
