The 22-23 U.S. News & World Report survey of American hospitals analyzed nearly 800 hospitals for their capabilities at providing rehabilitation care to individuals recovering from severe injuries or illnesses. The study scored hospitals on multiple metrics, including healthcare outcomes for rehabilitation patients, the scope of a hospital's rehabilitation care services, and the amount of recognition received by a hospital from within the broader rehabilitation services community. In the seven-state Great Plains region, only the Mayo Clinic graded out as a top 50 hospital for rehabilitation care in the 22-23 U.S. News survey. That said, the Mayo Clinic is one of the leading rehabilitation care hospitals in the nation, grading out in the survey as the 6th best rehabilitation hospital in the country:
