In the 2022-23 survey of American hospitals conducted by U.S. News & World Report (USNWR), nine hospitals in the Mid-Eastern U.S., a region that encompasses the District of Columbia and five states, were named among the 50 best hospitals in the nation for pediatric cancer care. This number included three of the ten highest-rated pediatric cancer hospitals in the country. While other children's hospitals in the region offer cancer treatment services, the nine hospitals that earned recognition in the USNWR national survey stand apart as the top-ranked pediatric cancer hospitals in the Mid-Eastern U.S.:
