According to May 2022 data made public earlier this year by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), there were over 37,700 chiropractors working in the United States. As of that time, the seven-state Great Plains region of the country was home to over 4,400 employed chiropractors. For chiropractors, pay levels in the region were mostly below average relative to the nation as a whole. The BLS reported average pay data for only five states in the region, and of that group, only one state, Minnesota, registered a mean annual wage for the profession that was better than the national average. And none of the five Great Plains states included in BLS reporting had an above-average median annual wage, which is the point that divides the top and lower half of earners on the wage scale.
