Physical Therapist Pay in the Far West Region

Newly published data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reports that there were nearly 221,000 physical therapists (PTs) employed in the United States as of May 2020.  More than 33,000 of those employed as physical therapists in the U.S. lived in the six-state Far West region of the country.  The Far West region is a very good one for PT pay, if you happen to live in Nevada, California or Alaska.  Respectively, those states rank first, second and third nationally for physical therapist annual mean wages according to BLS data.  On the other hand, annual mean wages for PTs in Hawaii, Oregon and Washington fall modestly below the national average.  A closer look at BLS data from May 2020 reveals the following about PT employment and physical therapist pay in the Far West region:
