Employed clinical psychologists work in a variety of settings, including at non-physician medical practices, physician offices, outpatient care centers, and hospitals. The BLS estimated the national mean salary for clinical psychologists to be $106,600 annually as of May 2023. BLS data revealed a significant variation in pay from state to state, with employed clinical psychologists in some states earning annual salaries 50% or greater than their peers in other states.
