In the latest American hospital rankings from U.S. News & World Report, only 90 hospitals received national recognition in at least one of ten pediatric specialties examined in the survey.  Three pediatric hospitals in the Mid-Eastern U.S. ranked among the ten best children's hospitals in the nation.  No other region of the country had as many top 10 pediatric hospitals as did the Mid-East.  While a total of fifteen hospitals in the region earned a top 50 national ranking in at least one of the ten pediatric specialties examined, there were seven Mid-Eastern U.S. hospitals that earned top 50 national rankings in at least five specialties. For earning national distinction in at least five pediatric medicine specialty areas, these seven hospitals stand out among the best pediatric hospitals in the Mid-Eastern U.S.:
