Radiologic Tech Pay in the Southeastern U.S.

Current occupational employment data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) estimated that, as of May 2023, more than 221,180 radiologic technologists and technicians were employed in the United States.  The twelve-state Southeastern U.S. held over 73,900 of the nation's radiologic tech jobs at that time.  BLS data revealed the region to be the weakest in the nation for radiologic tech pay, as only one state in the region, Virginia, recorded an annual mean wage level for radiologic techs that topped the national average.  Moreover, nine states in the region ranked among the ten worst states in the nation for radiologic tech annual mean wage levels.  A detailed examination of May 2023 BLS data provides the following state-level information about radiologic tech pay in the Southeastern U.S.:

Speech Language Pathologist Pay in the Rocky Mountain Region

Released earlier this year, May 2024 data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicated that over 174,000 speech-language pathologists (SLPs) were employed in the United States. More than 3,460 of them worked in the five-state Rocky Mountain region. However, BLS was unable to include Colorado’s 2024 data due to quality concerns, omitting what could account for up to 60% of the region’s workforce. As a result, the Rocky Mountain region ranked among the lowest-performing of all eight regions, with two of the remaining four states—Utah and Idaho—placing in the bottom ten nationally. A closer review of May 2024 BLS data reveals the following about speech language pathologist pay in the Rocky Mountain region:

Radiologic Tech Pay in the Mid-East U.S. Region

Data released earlier this year from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that, as of May 2024, there were over 221,000 radiologic technicians and technologists employed in the United States.  The Mid-East region of the U.S. held a bit more than 35,000 of those radiologic technologist and technician jobs.  BLS data reveals the region to be a dichotomous one for radiologic tech pay.  New York and the District of Columbia rank in the top 10 nationally for radiologic tech annual mean wages; and about two-thirds of radiologic techs in the region work in a state where the average annual mean wage exceeds the national average for radiologic techs.  However, 28% of the region's radiologic techs are employed in Pennsylvania, where the annual mean wage runs almost 8% below the national average.  A closer examination of May 2024 data from the BLS reveals the following about radiologic tech pay in Mid-East U.S. region:
